Castle Stalker
A basic but very nice cafe/restaurant with lovely views of Stalker Castle and views of Lismore. Serves light snacks, teas & coffees and of course cracking views, which are free!

Ballachulish House
One mile from Glencoe and has fabulous food.

Crannog Restaurant
Seafood restaurant in Fort William temporarily moved during 2005 to a new spot near the underwater diving centre during refurbishment. It is very near Morrisons food store. This is a first class place which has to be a must to visit.

The Holly Tree, Kentallen
Drive 5 miles from Glencoe to Kentallen to the Old Railway Station which is now known as the Holly Tree Hotel. This place serves excellent seafood and steaks, and is well worth a visit. It is in a lovely location with cracking views over the loch.

Isles of Glencoe Hotel
In the village of Ballachulish , the restaurant has very nice views over Loch Leven.

Laroch Bar and Bistro
Large selection of all spirits, beers, lagers and liquors and a very good Bistro which serves good food in nice surroundings.

The Tailrace Inn
The Tailrace Inn Kinlochleven , a great place to stop of a bit to eat or an overnight rest.

The MacDonald Hotel
The MacDonald Hotel Kinlochleven, another great spot to savor some wholesome food at very reasonable prices whilst enjoying the marvellous loch views.

West Highland Way and Munro Bagging

Glencoe Visitor Centre offers the ideal introduction to Glencoe and the surrounding areas of Lochaber. It is located on the A82 one mile south of the village

Glencoe Folk museum. Situated in the heart of Glencoe, this museum offers local history of the Clans, and Agricultural Section, and Weapons & Slate workers section.  

The privately run Visitor Centre at Ballachulish has lots of information about the area and the staff will be able to offer help and advice on all local issues and questions.

Ballachulish Slate Quarry

Ballachulish Slate Quarriers, well worth a visit. At the Ballachulish visitors centre , contact the visitors centre assistant and they will put in the right direction to the quarry. It is open for all of us all year round and now is a lovely walk into the past!

The Aluminium Story Centre offers you the history of how aluminium came to the village of Kinlochleven with an audio-visual and stories of the rise and fall of the British Alcan Factory in Kinlochleven. The factory doesn't exist now, though parts of the old building can be seen.

Ben Nevis Distillery
Why not take a trip round Fort William's local whisky distillery? It is open all year round

The ruins of Old Inverlochy Castle on the edge of Fort William just before the turnoff to the A 830 are well worth a visit.

Jacobite steam train , passing through some beautiful scenery, lochs, mountains and sea to the town of Mallaig . This steam train was used in the filming of the last 3 Harry Potter movies.

Cruchan Power Station

Deep within the mountain Ben Cruchan on the shores of Loch Awe. The hollowed out mountain is home to the cruchan power station, very good guided trips inside to the depths of the earth! Situated on the bank of Loch Awe 19 miles east of Oban on the A85.
